Description

From the archive of noted James Brown historian, Alan Leeds.  Vocalist and saxophonist Davey "Dizzy" Jones and his Continentals were the hottest Southern Florida r&b band during the 60's. At times including future James Brown collaborator and band leader Alfred "Pee Wee" Ellis and drummer Freddy Scott, they backed all the Miami soul stars like Sam and Dave as well as touring artists who came through town. James Brown himself produced several mid-60's singles by Jones. This 1960 single on Henry Stone's Glades labnel combines a deep soul ballad with a romping dance track.
