DAVID BOWIE – “HEROES”
ORIGINAL 1977 UK FIRST PRESSING / FIRST ISSUE
RCA Victor – PL 12522
A genuine original 1977 UK pressing of David Bowie’s classic “Heroes” album, presented in the original matte orange RCA Victor labels and original laminated picture sleeve.
This is the desirable early UK A-3E / B-5E matrix variant, with the distinctive “Dave’s RCA” hand-etched inscription in the Side 2 run-out.
FULL RUN-OUT / MATRIX DETAILS:
Side 1: PL 12522 A 3E A4AD
Side 2: A3 DAVE'S RCA PL 12522 B 5E A3X
The Side 1 label also has “HEROES” in quotation marks, as found on the original UK issue.
The record is accompanied by the original laminated picture sleeve, the original black-and-white lyric insert, and the period RCA company inner sleeve dated 11-77.
The rear sleeve carries the original manufacturing information:
“Record Manufactured in Italy / Sleeve printed in England.”
This is therefore a particularly nice, complete example of an original 1977 UK first-issue copy, rather than a later reissue.
CONDITION
Sleeve: Excellent overall. The original laminate remains glossy and the artwork presents extremely well, with only minor age/handling signs consistent with a 1977 sleeve.
Vinyl: Excellent visually under strong light, with no obvious significant scratches or damage apparent.
Labels: Very clean original orange RCA labels.
Lyric insert: Original and present.
Inner sleeve: Original period RCA company inner, dated 11-77.
Please study the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
