                                      Original 1971 UK RCA SF 8244 LP with Lyric Insert

A collector friend told me years ago that first UK issues of this album (printed in England by Robert Stace) came with a front laminated sleeve, and at the time I thought he may have been mistaken.............

I have had so many copies of this great album over the years, all with the usual 'matt' finish, well, here at last is a Front Laminated first issue sleeve!!

The lamination really brings out the vivid colouring, so much better than the matt variation...........

The rear of the sleeve has also been stamped 'RCA Press Copy' (photo below) I would think this to mean an early copy for reviewing purposes by DJ's/Media

The sleeve has light use only, and is very bright , crisp and clean : EXCELLENT condition.

The disc has virtually no signs of use, no label spindle use, outstanding sound quality throughout : MINT minus condition.

An unbelievable item, complete with Lyric Insert  and correct RCA company liner sleeve (Excellent condition)

Notes:-Personnel: David Bowie (vocals, guitar, saxophone, piano); Mick Ronson (guitar); Rick Wakeman (piano); Trevor Bolder (trumpet, bass); Mick Woodmansey (drums). Subdued and acoustic, HUNKY DORY was the calm before the storm for David Bowie, who would explode a year later with ZIGGY STARDUST. This was Bowie in transition--hinting at his love for the theatric ("Life On Mars?"), and showing off his ability to suss out a generation's evolving self-obsession ("Changes"). HUNKY DORY was also a tour of the posters framed on young Bowie's impressionable walls. His obvious romance with pre-punk New York City is evident in "Andy Warhol," and his fascination with the public-private schism shows up in "Song For Bob Dylan." In hindsight, "Dylan" seems an introduction to Bowie's idea that a rock performer needs an alter ego. He was preparing for his transformation into Ziggy Stardust.

All items carefully graded audio-visually, and are played on a high quality system.

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I realize the requirements in the gradings of sleeves and discs , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised in listings........I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice....)
