David Bowie - 'Hunky Dory'

This auction is for a 1st UK Pressing of Bowie's breakthrough album (although it was his fourth), 'Hunky Dory'.

The vinyl itself is a very nice first pressing with just some light paper scuffs. These genuine first pressings are RARE and even more difficult to find in this condition. The labels are the original glossy orange RCA variety and not the later dull orange, green or black reissues. The vinyl matrix numbers (both ending 3T) confirm this is a very rare, very first pressing from 1971. But all importantly the sleeve is the original 1st press laminated variation (which is also thicker with more vivid colours), not the later sleeve which was re-issued in 1972 after the success of Ziggy Stardust. This is one of the most sought after David Bowie LPs ever and is seen very rarely on ebay or in collecting circles. It is rarer than 'David Bowie' on Deram, 'David Bowie' on Philips and rarer even than The Man Who Sold The World' on Mercury with the infamous dress cover. Comes complete with picture lyric inner.

A must for any fan of real music.

Vinyl: EXCELLENT- (a few very faint hairlines on either side visible under bright light but nothing that affects playback, sound is nice and warm with very minor background noise between tracks - labels are shiny orange first press type and are also excellent)

Sleeve: EXCELLENT- (Robert Stace sleeve has some creasing and edgewear but generally excellent, omits Mainman from the reverse of the sleeve)
Inner: EXCELLENT- (lyric inner is nice but has split to bottom but otherwise good)
