Outstanding, barely played original 1972 UK release which looks and sounds amazing. This is on the orange RCA label which still shows 'Titanic' publishing credits under the song titles on both sides. On subsequent releases these were changed to 'Mainman'.
The vinyl looks unmarked with minimal-or-no signs of use.
However, what makes this disc all the more remarkable is the audio. I've played both sides and would say that the vinyl plays flawlessly and this is probably as near to perfect as you're likely to find. In my experience, seven-inch singles hardly ever deliver perfect audio, but I've never heard a better copy and would have no hesitation to play-grade it as a VERY, VERY SAFE Near Mint (NM).
The labels show minimal signs of use. Judging by the spindle marks, I would say that neither side has been played more than a handful of times.
In summary, I would say that this is probably the best looking and best sounding original pressing of 'The Jean Genie' that I have ever come across and I think it would be almost impossible to improve on.
[For the sake of completeness - and this is only mentioned because the vinyl looks otherwise near-perfect - I would mention one tiny vinyl pressing 'blip' on the A side, but this is there from new, from the manufacturing process and is 'under the grooves' and entirely inaudible].
