Description
Official David Bowie life mask number 64 of a Limited Edition Of only 100 produced Worldwide.
Originally cast as a makeup tester for the 1983 David Bowie film 'The Hunger'. It is a unique design called "Ashes To Ashes", the sculptor had an eddition of 300 White masks called "Cut", which were released for sale at the David Bowie IS exhibition at the V&A in 2013. This "Ashes" Edition is hand painted in fantastic detail by the sculptor Nicholas Boxall, and there is only 100 created. The St Pauls Gallery in London - currently has the plain White "Cut" mask (Edition Of 300) up for sale at £1300.00 - so this painted edition of only 100 by the same sculptor represents a major bargain and a fantastic investment opportunity!
Ready to wall hang and is made from "toughened plaster, amazingly detailed with every wrinkle and pore evident". slight chip in the plaster at the base of the neck as can be seen in the pictures, but hardly noticeable and does not detract from this stunning piece of art!
