What a brilliant LP this is .

Supermen, the man who sold the world ,width of a circle the brilliant saviour machine , or the most haunting song Bowie has ever written After all . Bowie really hit the target with this LP...

This is just another inconcievably rare Bowie original. After more than 25 years of attending record fairs up and down the country , I never came across one single example of this record .

If you are lucky , eBay manages to locate maybe one a year .

Much rarer is the condition of this high standard .It is as close to mint as I have ever seen . A very common flaw in these roundcovers is many have serious wear on the sleeves ( check out your own copy) or even holes near the spines, due to the wear and tare of the open out action of this unusual sleeve .

None of that here .

In 1983 those unscrupulous Japs created a forgery of this very LP due to its high value . Back then it cost £5000 to forge an LP like this . So work out how much they would need to get per item to make a proffit and how many they would need to make .Forgers only forge records that bring a high price that are also in very high demand !

 The LP sleeve of the forgery is made of thicker stock ,the colours are slightly brighter and there is a celotape mark running along the top of the sleeve . (This is if your holding the sleeve with the writing facing you).

 The matrix number on the forgery is scratched freehand , on this the original it is machine block stamped . You can see this if you double click the pictures .

The label on the fake is also a much darker shade of blue .

They just do not make things like this anymore and they never made that many back then . Immagine the cost to a record company to produce a sleeve of this unusually high standard  .One would have to employ a design engineer to calculate the diementions of each aspect of this foldaway sleeve . It almost does not make sence on such a poor selling LP . It is just  lost money that Mercury will never recoupe ,it is as if they were creating an instant collectable !

 There is a 2 inch light scrape on the front of the sleeve on Bowie`s blue hair , but that is the only thing stopping me grading this as mint , so the sleeve has to be mint minus .

The LP is flawless . The labels are bright and spotlessly clean and the vinyl looks unplayed .It is as close to mint as possible,  immaculate in every way .The inner lyric sleeve is also immaculate with no handwriting anywhere on this item at all .

Much rarer than the dress cover or the 69 Philips LP .

I took a couple of pictures of the vynil LP placed on the opened out roundcover sleeve , the purpose of this was to give the sleeve some scale . Its absolutely enormous .

Of all the David Bowie rare LPs and there are a lot of them , due to the fact that NOTHING started selling untill five years after he made his first LP .

Make no bones about it .This , the German roundcover is,  the rarest of them all , and one day that will get the recognition it is well overdue .When that happens , the price of this item will soar .

None of us have the money to enjoy looking at our own original oils by De Vinci or Van Gough .

My point is , this UNUSUAL LP

is a real work of art .Look at it ,

it has the star contalations that they tought us of in school ,  `the great bear` ` and the frying pan` etc.

It really gets strange when you see Bowies head WINNGED as the body of an eagle , with blue hair ???

Furthermore , they put Bowie`s hand as the eagles body , nonechalently flicking away this worthless world that he has bought and sold .

Christ , what were they on ???

I have never in my life seen a more unrecognised work of art .

I own some rare , rare records and there is a great pleasure to be enjoyed , from the moment you pick the LP up , remove it from its sleeve ,then , ah , as the needle hits the vynil ...

Listen to the sound quality , so much warmer than the digitalised cds we now accept .

We should be disgusted . WE HAVE SOLD OUT .

NOW WE DESERVE TO BE MIKLED .

Dig out your own 1972 re release with Bowies leg kick ...

I know a lot about rare LPs and very little of singles . Over the last 29 years I have studied LPs .

 Their value , rarety , and how the market has mooved .

This LP is by far and away THE MOST UNDERESTIMATED RARETY I know of .THAT . Will not always be the case ,it may take something like Bowie`s passing to get the world to realise the value of his back catalouge , and thats sad , and bad , on us .

He is up there with the best of them , ELVIS .DYLAN (to incidentally goes the creddit of the worlds most expensive record £25,000 .
