This is the 1969 Philips pressing of David Bowie` acoustic masterpiece,

also called David Bowie. I want to draw your attention to the Philips Gold Sticker

on the top left of the front of the album sleeve. 

I DONT USUALLY LIKE STICKERS ON LPS THEY TEND TO LOOK
TAKKY . BUT LOOK AT THIS ONE . ISNT IT A BEAUTY . GOLD WITH
THAT BLACK PHILIPS TYPESET !!!! IT JUST LOOKS,TOP NOTCH, SLICK
AND IMPORTANT !!!! 

It reads PHILIPS Special Import Service Quantity Limited PHILIPS. 

I this this represents a Promotional LP for this record . 

Sent to Holland from Philips/Mercury/Vertigo who are all one big record company. 

To get some airplay for Philips Records, new artist, David Bowie . 

Promo records never existed properly in the UK until 1973 . The UK just didn`t 

use them. Promos had been huge in the US since the 60s which is probably

why Tony Defries came up with the idea for the BowPromo . Did you ever ask 

yourself why have you never seen a Man Who Sold the World , Hunky Dory 

or even a Ziggy Stardust UK Promo ? Well do it now. Such a thing does not exist.

Those albums all pre date promos as we now know them ! 

The sleeve is in OUTSTANDING condition.  I MEAN OUTSTANDING . One of 

the best I have ever seen . Because this sleeve was never laminated they are all

ruined or suffering bad ring ware. Look how bright and clean and vibrant the 

colours are . Hardly any ring ware to be seen on this great item.  Double click 

the pictures and have a good look at that spine. RIGID STRONG and SQUARE

ALL spinal marking in perfect order.  Look at the rear art work THE DEPTH OF
THE CIRCLE as they mistakenly called it . No ware at all . BEAUTIFUL .

The inside of this MAGNIFICENT GATEFOLD sleeve is in lovely order .

The print is still bright and the blue background still dark. All these signs are

evidence that this record has been stored properly for years. The way radio 

stations store them with the record NEVER housed in its sleeve ! Hence 

the fabulous condition. Double click the pictures the matrix number is BOLDLY
FACTORY STAMPED .

The Vinyl is pristine. On side 2 there is a tiny hairline no more than 6mm . Its

nothing . That is the only fault I can see. The record plays perfectly all the way. 

No flaws at all . Even in the quiet parts UNBELIEVABLE . WHOEVER WINS 

THIS WILL BE OVER THE MOON WITH IT . I seem to be saying this a lot 

but I have spent my whole lifetime building this collection constantly upgrading 

as I go. So I always kept the best for myself and sold the others on. The labels do have some spindle marks . This LP has certainly been played, probably played a lot . 

But it has been played with care and love and respect for this great item . Whoever had this before me, the way they have kept this lovely item is a credit to them.

So there it is. Another UNBELIEVABLY RARE 1969 Philips David Bowie
