Side 1 VG - Only very good side 1 - audible surface noise at start of album and some quieter sections of music but no skips or jumps.
Side 2 VG / EX - sound ranges from very good to excellent - no skips or jumps
The lettering of "David Bowie" is not the same on the two labels, see photo. These 1990 reissues of Bowie's back catalogue had a lot of little mistakes in the packaging, song titles etc. I have seen both label designs on ebay but not on the same record !

EX - excellent - beautiful gatefold cover in near perfect condition - with the original sticker
Album originally released in 1969 as "David Bowie" on Phillips Records in UK. Following success of Ziggy Stardust in 1972 the song Space Oddity reached No. 5 in charts and album was re-released by RCA with new title and cover as seen here.
Title track had another run on the singles chart in 1975 when it reached No.1 in the UK
The back cover reproduces USA cover of this album from 1969 where it was called Man of Words, Man of Music on Mercury Records.
Modern day re-issues have now reverted to the original UK title and cover from 1969.
In 1990 Bowie's back catalogue was remastered and re-released by EMI and this album reached No. 39. The vinyl LP version is rare. There are 3 bonus tracks on side 2.
