Vinyl: EX (A Fantastic Copy ! The vinyl looks superb and has retained its original high gloss sheen. NO scratches, no embedded dirt, NO ugly scrapes, NO dust pockets or grease. Both sides plays superbly. I doubt if you can find a much better original copy of this rare Bowie single)

Deram Company Sleeve: EX (Original Deram Records Brown / White Company Sleeve Is In Excellent Condition)

Labels: EX (Both labels are very clean and unmarked with the original 4-prong centre fully intact. Only one or two thin spindle trails to the centre, showing this has been seldom played)

You are bidding on this ORIGINAL 1st PRESSING of the 1967 UK (Made In England) Deram Records 45 by David Bowie entitled 'The Laughing Gnome' b/w 'The Gospel According To Tony Day' with the very rare INVERTED MATRIX on both labels.
Bowie fans will know that when he hit big in the early 1970s, this single, much to his chagrin was re-issued and became a top 10 hit.  There’s plenty of 1973 copies flying around but when it comes to the original 1967 release, they are far less common, and in such great condition as this copy is in are extremely rare ! From my personal collection I'm happy to present one here with INVERTED LABEL MATRIX, ‘1967’ to the LEFT of the label and the BOLDER title text. This is the 100% genuine original 1967 pressing with inverted matrix numbers, above the catalogue number, on the label. The matrix numbers are DR-39798-T1-1C & DR-39799-T1-1C. It comes with its original Deram company paper sleeve. A true original UK 1st pressing. These are very rare ! It’s also in great condition and has been thoroughly play tested – with near perfect play.
I have owned this record for nearly 50 years and it is in wonderful condition. Don't miss out !
