ORIGINAL UK RCA (RS 1006) FIRST PRESSING (March 1975) OF DAVID BOWIE'S VASTLY UNDERRATED "Young Americans" LP - HIS VENTURE INTO HIGHLY STYLISED PHILLY SOUL - AND IT'S IN STUNNING, POSSIBLY COMPLETELY UNPLAYED CONDITION (the labels show no spindles or signs of use and the vinyl surfaces are unmarked and shine like new) AND THE AUDIO DELIVERY IS SENSATIONAL THROUGHOUT - A BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN PRESSING - FANTASTIC COPY AND THEY DON'T COME MUCH BETTER THAN THIS - VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INDEED

COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL RCA COMPANY DIE-CUT INNER SLEEVE

David Bowie had dropped hints during the Diamond Dogs tour that he was moving toward R&B, but the full-blown blue-eyed soul of Young Americans came as a shock.
Surrounding himself with first-rate session-men, Bowie comes up with a set of songs that approximate the sound of Philly soul and disco, yet remain detached from their inspirations; even at his most passionate, Bowie sounds like a commentator, as if the entire album was a genre exercise.
Nevertheless, the distance doesn't hurt the album -- it gives the record its own distinctive flavour, and its plastic, robotic soul helped inform generations of synthetic British soul

LABELS: Clean, bright and fresh labels with no spindle traces or signs of use - in my opinion this copy has never been played - MINT
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are unmarked (there is some light undulation to the record when rotating on the turntable but this absolutely no effect on playback) - MINT
VINYL Audio: Outstanding audio throughout with a crystal clear, deep, rich and detailed sound - beautifully recorded and engineered and on playback at a very loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing) the audio delivery is flawless - this is a an exceptionally clean pressing and the run-ins and track divisions are silent (which in my experience is pretty rare for this LP) - critically graded a beautiful MINT for audio quality - fantastic copy and one very highly recommended indeed
SLEEVE: The untreated matt sleeve is clean and unmarked but being predominantly black it's very prone to showing any storage rubbing and this one is no exception. Both the front and back surfaces have some rubbing but this is still one of the better ones I have seen and is critically graded as Nr EXCELLENT - a fine original 1975 sleeve and in my experience they don't come that much better
