This is the real deal 1st edition, 1E 1E matrix and  hand etched A1 A0, very early a rare gem indead!

Vinyl

This is a lovely vinyl I played it on my Hacker valve record player and the sound was awesome.  The vinyl does have some spindle marks and faint hairlines  on both sides but there are no skips or jumps and playback is not affected.  I played it through myself before listing to be sure of this.  The record has been played over the years but it has been looked after and plays well.

Sleeve

The inner sleeve is complete and the ink print quality is still strong.  The sleeve does however have two small pieces of sellotape on one side and bottom which are historic and part of the records life and so have not been removed.  It also has creases and wear marks around the edges which I have shown in photograph.  Collectors will iron the inners to remove creases and steam off sellotape but I believe in the records originality and would not do this.  If you buy it you can decide but I think its patina becomes affected if you do this.  The sleeve is complete and original after 40 odd years!! please see photos.

Outer sleeve is also complete with the colour unfaded and bold.  It is of course the unlaminated  Robert Stace first press sleeve.  It has been handled and is creased, worn and slightly faded around the edges but there are no rips or tears or sellotape, all original and all complete.  Please see photos.

Labels

The orange RCA labels are bright and in great shape with not a spindle mark and bearing the all important Titanic, Gem credits etc no "mainman" a true early first edition.

For the benefit of the obsessed  collectors.  This copy has been played and has commensurate age related patina on the sleeves and vinyl.  Please look at the photos which form part of the description.  It does not jump or skip, it is all original, a very early 1st edition.  It is not ripped or torn but it has had a life, a loving life which means it still looks and plays great.  If however you are one of these obsessed collectors who wants no marks on the vinyl and complains about creases on the inner or "tatty" edges on the sleeve and hisses or crackles between tracks and who basically wants a brand new 40 year old lp, then this is not for you, Look elsewhere please!!!

If however you are a true Bowie fan and want a 1st edition of this classic vinyl to actually play, enjoy the art on the cover, and sing along with the inner and just plain enjoy, then this is for you and I hope one of you get it!!

You should also check out the mad £200 to £300 buy it now prices for this LP elsewhere on E bay which claim to be early 1st editions with 2E matrix stamps!!  I think not.
