Description
Space Oddity is the second studio album by David Bowie, originally released in the United Kingdom in November 1969.The album was a commercial failure due to a lack of promotion by Mercury Records. For its release in the United States, Mercury retitled the album "Man of Words/Man of Music" and used different artwork. RCA Records reissued the album under the title of Space Oddity. The album up for bid is designated as a reissue, but it was a first issue by RCA. It consists of 9 tracks and has a run time of 45+ minutes. It was manufactured and pressed by RCA's Indianapolis pressing plant.
The cover is in VG condition for an album that is 51 years old. The edges and corners show mild wear, but there are no split seams or tears. The front and back covers show mild disc wear (see photos). The cover surfaces retain most of their gloss and have been protected with a heavy vinly cover. There are no markings or discoloration of the covers and there are no creases or tears.
The inner paper sleeves have photos of Mr. Bowie in the early stages of his career along with printed title and lyrics. There is also an intact, color photo poster of David that is included. I have also enclosed the recording with an anti static vinyl sleeve for added protection against dust accumalation.
The recording is clean and testing using Audacity. There is no skipping of the tracks. There is one mild "click" on Side 1, track 3 (Letter To Hermione) and one click on Side 2, track 2 (An Occasional Dream) that do not significantly interfere with the listening experience, The record surfaces are free of scratches and scuffing and very mild signs of wear. The surfaces retain their sheen and the labels are intact and clean.
