PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

SCARE 2008 US limited 11-track LP set pressed on "HEAVY WEIGHT" 180gm virgin vinyl, featuring the first Byrne and Eno collaboration in nearly 30 years. Presented in a single picture sleeve and complete with original inner art sleeve with credits/lyrics.

It's been around twenty-seven years since Brian Eno and David Byrne released My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts, and this second album offers a very different proposition. The songs on Everything That Happens Will Happen Today tend to be disarmingly upbeat in tone - apparently this very open, simple sound was ingrained within Eno's original early demos, leading Byrne to pen correspondingly optimistic lyrics, characterised by a gospel-like feel. The album continually juggles a rootsy spiritualism with a potentially very rigid digital production. 'Strange Overtones' probably comes closest to organically blending these two polar aspects, and the result is the most concise pop song of the collection, buoyed on by layered choruses and complex percussive structures ("This groove is out of fashion/These beats are twenty years old", as Byrne points out in one of the verses) But there's also a strict and concise electronic framework holding the words and music together, and while this mightn't be nearly as bold or unprecedented as the two iconic artists might seem to think, they do make a feature out of the collision between this 'digital vs. nature' contradiction, and on songs like 'One Fine Day' and 'Wanted For Life' they take the theme further than most.

The set came sealed and i was the first person i removed the protective seal. Vinyl is in pristine condition since having never been played and stored in a smoke-free household. Jacket is clear, with minimal minor wear/creasing along edges from storage and of age. Inner sleeve is in excellent condition. A lovely looking package though!!!. See the images to the bottom of the page.
