Description
A beautiful 4 record set of Beethoven's Complete Violin Sonatas performed by David Oistrakh with Lev Oborin on piano. These are Red/Silver label Dutch Stereo pressings in the original cloth covered box. These are simply stunning performances.
RECORDS: The records are all NM- but the labels have some tape affixed and one has a sticker removal tear.
This is a 4 record set. All 4 records have been played. There are marks on side 6 which produce soft tics at the beginning of the record, on tracks 1 and 2. I would not rate that side as NM-. No skips or distortion, just some soft tics that sound in quiet passages. There is also a tiny mark on side 8, track 1 which does not sound on my SME table. All other sides play perfectly. Overall I think the set is extremely nice. Again, I want to repeat that a prior owner placed some small tape strips on the labels, probably for vibration dampening. A few of the labels have slight tears where someone tried to remove these tape strips. These have nothing to do with the playing of the records but are visual.
BOX: The cloth covered box has faded on the top and spline and shows some rub wear on the upper right front corner. Beautiful gilt lettering on the box.
I try to grade records accurately. Most records are play graded.
Quoted shipping in the domestic U.S. is by Media Mail. Quoted international shipping is by USPS first class international mail. Heavier packages must be shipped by USPS International Priority mail. I prefer to combine shipping to save costs. Generally in the U.S. each additional record adds about $.60 to the shipping charge. On international shipments, each additional record generally adds about $4 to the shipping charge. All shipping will be quoted at the end of the listing(s). Records are shipped in heavy cardboard mailers designed specifically for LP's with bubble wrap or cardboard inserts for protection.
If you feel that my description of the record is inaccurate in some respect, you can return the record for a refund of the full purchase price (less shipping).
If you want a record held for future shipping, please email me so I know that is your intention. I prefer that you pay for the record at the time of purchase since ebay charges me at the time the sale closes.
If you have any questions about the record, please ask them before the auction closes. I will assume that all bidders know what they are bidding on and I will not accept returns becuase the buyer bid by mistake etc.
