This is a fantastic Davis Sisters 78 record. It is on the RCA Victor label # 20-5345 released in 1953. The Davis Sisters who performed on this record were Skeeter Davis (her real name was Mary Frances Penick) and Bee Jay Davis. Bee Jay died in 1953 shortly after this record was released which was their first release and was replaced by her older sister Georgie after this recording. So this is the only recording Bee made with her sister Skeeter as The Davis Sisters. The songs are: Rock-A-Bye Boogie which is Rockabilly and I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know which was a big country hit. Rock-A-Bye-Boogie played in E condition hitting E- in a few areas and I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know played in V+ condition hitting E- in a few areas. I feel grading 78 records as well as 33’s and 45’s are a matter of personal opinion to a certain degree. The VJM 78 Grading System in my opinion is the most accurate grading system I have come across.

The VJM 78 Grading System Is As Follows

N As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed).

N– Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage.

E+ Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets.

E Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.

E- Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record, few light scratches.

V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.

V Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.

V- Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.

G+ Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.

G Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise.

G- Music still prominent, but wear and scratch damage extensive.

F Most of music remains audible over surface noise, but listening now uncomfortable.

A Note to my EBay Customers regarding DSR Ratings:

This is probably the most misunderstood of all the new eBay policies ... for Buyers and for Sellers! EBay tells Buyers that 4 stars, out of the maximum 5, are wonderful. EBay tells Sellers that 4 stars are terrible! EBay ''reminds'' Buyers that, since the stars are anonymous, YOU can be HONEST. You can! That is always your right, but you should have all the information and eBay isn't supplying that to you.

It is reasonable for a Buyer to assume that giving a seller a 4 Star rating is ''Good”, but eBay's New feedback system treats anything less than a 5 Star as sub-standard and penalizes sellers. If DSR ratings fall below 4.6, EBay will begin to restrict a seller’s listings.

I strive for 5 star service all around. Please consider leaving 5 stars in the detailed seller‘s ratings. Please leave 5 stars whenever possible and if you can’t, please let me know why, so I can improve upon it.
