This is a remarkable, deluxe presentation set recording on the Decca label of the complete edition of Richard Wagner's 4 part opera, Der Ring des Nibelungen, also known as "The Ring", Das Rheingold, Die Walkure, Siegfried and Gotterdammerung. There is also a unique 3 record introduction to "The Ring" set narrated by Deryck Cooke featuring excerpts from the four operas. First off the bad news: the first record of the 5 record set of Die Walkure is missing. The good news -- and most important -- is that all of the records are in mint, pristine condition. The only thing I can see on the entire set is that 7 records show an extremely slight scuff mark on the paper label at the hole that would indicate that it was at least placed on a turntable, but otherwise look unplayed and new. Each record is custom stamped from the factory. The wood box and wooden outer sleeves do show some moderate wear. The librettos are worn and the one from Das Rheingold is missing. Overall, the records and their original plastic-lined sleeves look new. This set, along with packing will weigh 26 lbs for shipping. Unless otherwise requested, I will ship via USPS media mail from postal code 85321 to anywhere within the US. Insurance is extra and highly recommended.
