Very rare and highly praised and sought after recording and performance.
Although not a near mint record this is still an almost unique opportunity to own this wonderful recording - the work is played with such warmth and emotion by a conductor whose brilliant career was cut tragically short by his sudden death in January 1958.
Original Inner Sleeve in excellent condition.
The record shows signs of being played, but has a very good bright sheen and is visually excellent, with a few light marks. The single time I played it, it sounded very well, playing faultlessly (no repeated ticks, clicks or jumps) with mostly a silent background, except for 6 light ticks about two thirds of the way through the first side.
The two pictures gives a very good impression of the blue backed sleeve which is still intact and basically sound but showing many signs of wear/creasing at the edges/corners with a 1 inch tear towards the centre of the back opening edge.
The disc and sleeve are visually graded EX/VG, 78/68 respectively (see below).

Record Condition Grading System
I apply a visual grading system as follows:
90% Mint, (90% is the highest figure I give as no records are perfect)
80-89% Near Mint, almost flawless, at 85% only the lightest scuff marks to the record, slight wear to the cover; above 85% and up to 89%, there should be no marks on the playing surface of the record. Below 85%, down to 80%, there will be progressively more marking, but this will only be very light and superficial.
70-79% Excellent, EX, a few more light surface marks than will be seen at 80-85%, light ring wear or creasing to cover, slight tears/laminate lift to the cover. Remains of price labels or sellotape may be evident to the cover.
60-69% Very Good, VG, more obvious marks to the record, more obvious creasing, ring wear or laminate lift, worse tears to the cover. There may be ticks from the record but see below*.
The information is provided for the record first, and then for the cover or box, for example you will find NM/NM in the notes on each record followed by, for example, 85/85. This means 85% both for the record and for the cover.
Records are viewed under both daylight and under a halogen light where practical to clearly shows any marks.
*This is a visual grading system. If I am aware of any audio problems affecting a record, such as ticks, I will provide this information in detail.
