SXL 2125 2126 & 2127 THREE LP SET BACH BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS DECCA 1959 WIDE BAND DEEP GROOVE STEREOPHONIC FIRST PRESS (ED1) VINYL LPs

Bidders may notice that the following grading description is very similar to many other similar 1950’s classical LPs I currently have listed  or am going to be listing over the next few weeks.  This is due to the almost identical, practically ‘archive’ condition of the entire collection.  Do check out my other listings if these are of interest.  I am adding records every day.

Sleeve Condition: NEAR MINT: All three sleeves are clean, flat, uncreased with glossy, undamaged laminate on both sides. All three are free from stickers, writing, marking, defect or damage.  An astonishingly well preserved, three sleeves in identically, flawless condition.

Inner Sleeve Condition: NEAR MINT: 2125 has a light paper crease, 2126 a small, closed tear to inner circle, 2127 is perfect.  Otherwise, all are white, unwritten and in almost perfect condition and free from signs of aging.

Record Condition: 2125 – Side 1 is unmarked and NEAR MINT.  Side 6 has very a very light mark across the first third of the LP.  It doesn’t affect play and there is no ticking or interference from it.  However, there is a little ‘sh’ vinyl tracking noise on this side.

Record Condition: 2126 – Side 2 has what looks like a graze about a third of the way in; actually, I think it is a pressing fault rather than post manufacture damage as astonishingly, although there is a very, very light sound as the stylus goes through it, it is genuinely so light that for me anyway, it really didn’t matter and one really has to listen for it to hear it.  However, it is there and it is therefore compromised. Otherwise, both sides are Near Mint and play flawlessly.

Record Condition: 2127 – NEAR MINT:  looks wonderful, unmarked and plays beautifully.

Not a perfect set, but mostly in lovely condition.

This is only one of many similar LPs I have currently listed or will shortly be listing.  They are all from a small collection of early classical Decca SXL and EMI ASD Stereo and some Mono LXT and CSD LPs.  All are in the most extraordinary, Near Mint condition.  It would not be an exaggeration to describe the entire collection as in, ‘archive’ condition.   In 25 years of record dealing and over 40 years of collecting myself, I have never come across records so perfectly cared for is almost perfectly preserved inner and outer sleeves.
