ROSSINI OVERTURES   vinyl LP on DECCA SXL 2182  UK  STEREO  Rare  1960 pressing 

I have acquired a large classical collection of wonderful recordings from a very keen and dedicated collector.

They are all mostly from the late 50s to mid 60s - Something of a Golden Age in Classical recording

All records are inspected very carefully and 

Gradings are based on Record Collector magazine.

I try to only offer recordings in a minimum of excellent Condition unless it is something particularly rare when I will do my best to describe any visual or audible flaws

First Edition pressing on DECCA SXL  Black and Silver Wide band Grooved label  with" original recording by "Lettering 

Side 1 Disc is visually Excellent  audibly plays just under  Excellent with just the occasional very faint ‘tic” and slight crackles in the quietest passages 

Side 2 Disc is visually Very Good with a faint surface mark across band 2 which was inaudible on my deck (A Goldring Lencko) but audibly Excellent 

with just the occasional faint "tic" and 1 light pop for 1 revolution on band 2


Sleeve is Excellent   complete with Original Decca FFSS inner Sleeve  that has is slightly tanned by age ( some 50 years now)


William Tell was written in 1829 and was Rossini's last opera, Cinderella and The Thieving Magpie date from 1817 while Semiramide was first performed in 1823 . A  rare and highly regarded recording that sounds Stunning complimented by an  evocative laminated sleeve design .
