VERY RARE DECCA SXL 2197
CARMEN FANTASIE/HAVANAISE
featuring RUGGIERO RICCI
and THE LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
conducted by PIERINO GAMBA
Issued in 1960 this elusive WBG ED1 LP includes the following tracks featuring the fantastic violin playing of RUGGIERO RICCI

As you can see from the photos of the very clean centre labels this is a 1st Edition Wide Band Grooved - Original Recording By The Decca Record Co. Ltd. London of this very rare LP.
Side 1: the vinyl has several light marks but there are no deep scratches.
Side 2: has two or three very,very light marks.
I have listened to the LP fully, there is some occasional surface noise in the quiet parts - it seems a lot of the ones sold on Ebay suffered from the same problem.
On side 1: there are some odd crackles here and there and one or two ticks but about three quarters of the way through side one there is a small pressing fault (a tiny bump in the vinyl) which causes a quiet intermittent 15 heartbeat bumps.
Side 2: there is only the odd slight crackle, one or two ticks and the same occasional slight surface noise in the quiet parts.
Overall the sound quality is generally excellent.
The record has NOT been professionaly cleaned so I think it would benefit from being done properly as it has been in storage for a long time.
If you are lucky enough to own a ELP Laser Turntable and a Cedar De-Clicker the playback will be fantastic.
The front cover has some slight ring wear and the odd minor crease near the right hand opening. The rear cover has a stain mark on the bottom right hand corner - a very small 4mm tear on the opening edge and is showing some slight signs of old age wear.
There is a some debate if the Flip-back Scalloped rear cover was issued first or was the Flat rear cover issued at the same time - they both have The Decca Record Co. Ltd, London,1960 and were both printed by Robert Stace.
The original inner is very,very clean.
I have given a good honest description of the LP and all in all it is a very nice presentable copy of this VERY RARE album.
