DECCA SXL 2228
BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 2 in D major (op.36) Overture - Leonora No.2 (op.72a)
L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande conducted by ERNEST ANSERMET
This is the "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY" wide band grooved ED1 label. Record comes complete with original Decca FFSS inner sleeve.
Regarding pricing, I have had a good look through the history on Popsike, and the average for this record is about £85. The maximum it has fetched is £243, but in the interests of not mucking anyone about and hopefully for a fast turnover, I have priced this below the average.
GRADING:
Sleeve: NEAR MINT this is really as close to perfect as you can expect from a record of this age I think. There are very light impressions of the shape of the record, but it is really beautifully clean and in stunning condition.
Record: EXCELLENT the record shows scuff marks but these are non-sounding and in angled light it can be seen that they are superficial and do not affect the groove. There are three consecutive pops near the end of side 2, but on inspection under a loupe you can see that this is due to a defect in the vinyl rather than a scratch or similar. Apart from this the record sounds very good.
This record has been cleaned using an Okki Nokki record cleaning machine and is supplied in a MoFi Original Master Sleeve, as can be seen in the photographs.
This will be sent in a good thick cardboard mailer.
