DECCA SXL 2292 - Prokofiev, Glinka, Borodin - Symphony 1, etc. - Ansermet
Condition vinyl:
VG+/NM- (visually + full playgrading)
The vinyl shows a couple of superficial and pale marks, probably from contact with the inner sleeve, that are not very noticable to the eye. I've played through the entire LP: side one plays great with just a total of 5 or 6 soft, odd ticks, spread over the whole side. Side two has some more ticks, I'd say about 15 odd ones, and a short passage of 6 repeating soft ticks near the start of track two. There are no loud pops and no groove wear and the ticks don't really distract from the music. Most of the time the disc plays trouble free. I guess I've made it sound much worse than it actually is - this is still a nice copy!
Condition cover:
VG+/VG
The sleeve is in ok condition with some age yellowing and two sticker residues on the back, which can probably be removed with careful cleaning. There are a few, short creases along the spine. Otherwise the cover looks quite nice. There are no splits or writing. Original innersleeve included, condition: VG

Another outstanding Ansermet recording, made in February 1961 in the Victoria Hall, Geneve. Producer and engineer being James Walker and Roy Wallace. A great LP and a much sought after one! First label for this issue, first lacquers/mothers on both sides and very low stamper numbers!
