Another from my personal collection! This album has been stored in a case for at least 25 years! With the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover! This is how I have always stored my records! This is listed for its outstanding audio quality. I had forgotton how good this album was. Stunning audio clarity throughout a rich deep bassey rock sound throughout in fact I never heard any real nasty problems at all throughout the play of this album perhapes very light isolated static tick but that's all . I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to very near mint for the most part, throughout as I heard it, any isolated static ticks are obliterated in the audio and nothing detrimental to the main overall audio experience in my opinion.. The original Garrod & Lofthouse laminated  cover is grade at least excellent to excellent plus any indents in the laminate are only noticed angled to the light. This becoming extremely scarce and collectable being the original 1st pressing with the earliest matrix and laminated gatefold! UNBELIEVABLY 40 YEARS OLD LIKE THIS!

Come Taste the Band is an album by the hard rock band Deep Purple recorded between August 3rd and September 1st, 1975 at Musicland Studios in Munich, Germany. The album was co-produced and engineered by the band and longtime band associate Martin Birch. The album was released in October 1975. It was the only studio album with Tommy Bolin  who replaced Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar. When guitarist Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple, many observers and critics assumed that Deep Purple would not continue. It was David Coverdale who asked Jon Lord to keep the band together, and Tommy Bolin was asked to take the guitar slot!

Musically, the album is far more commercial than previous Deep Purple releases, tending toward a conventional hard rock focus with overtones of soul and funk. The album shows the strong influence of Glenn Hughes on the band at this point, who had formed a bond with the equally commercially-minded Bolin.

In general the album is considered one of Deep Purple's lesser efforts, although it did sell reasonably well on release (#19 in the UK charts, and #43 in the US).

After tours for this album, Deep Purple broke up for eight years. In 1976 Tommy Bolin died from a heroin overdose!.

In recent years the album has received some critical reassessment, primarily due to Bolin's contributions to the album!

The Vinyl

On visual inspection this vinyl looks absolutely superbe!  Initially this vinyl look like new I can hardly see a blemish! Being very highly criticle on one side I noticed that the vinyl was just slightly uneven, but of course this has no adverse effect at all.  On closer inspection any marks seen would possibly be just very fine surface marks and sleeve removal type marks only when angled to the light and fortunately these have very little if no real adverse effect on the awesome sounding audio quality as I heard it. Importantly there were no marks that caused any loud clicks or pops throughout the audio.  

The Audio Quality

I have played this through track for track as usual and the audio is rated at the top very near mint throughout in my opinion! This is cristal clear and vibrant through out. This plays through crystal clear and very vibrant with (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed in my opinion!
I would class myself as highly critical! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this caliber and you will see that i normally get it right! Audio is graded at the top!  You will find the audio quality on this vinyl hard to surpass! I would grade the Audio at least excellent plus to very near Mint Through out! 

Please note! I always make this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd very light static crackle, isolated static ticks (not) consistant throughout the audio! Although i never heard any major problems at all and have given my honest opinion, this is a genuine 40 year old vinyl (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 40 year old system!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for the best part of 40 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over the years causes static crackle and ticks! From my personal experiance a constant clean before each play reduces this problem! and subsequently enhances the audio quality!

The Labels

This features the original purple labels in superbe condition (no) marks or nasty writing with very (VERY) Any spidering is very hard to spot, perhaps a hand full if that,  which indicates this has hardly ever been played and certainly not been overplayed at all (very rare for a 1st pressing) ''made in gt Britain'' text is featured (this is a UK pressing)

The cover

Super glossy in appearance Fully laminated ''MADE IN GT. BRITAIN'' Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover. Lovely and glossy laminated front  with hardly any creases to talk of any there are are minor in my opinion angled to the light any light indentations are light and only noticed if looked for in my opinion no splits or tares!

the spine is lovely and square all text is legible there is no crushing at the spine!  I would grade at least excellent to excellent plus!

The lyric insert record sleeve

The original lyric record sleeve has slight discoloration with age. No splits or tears! This album has always had the vinyl stored seperatyely from the cover and sleeve for protection! Strong and straight with all text readable. The original!
