Description

This is an original, UK 1st pressing of the increasingly rare and vastly underrated 1975 vinyl LP "Come Taste The Band" by Deep Purple

UK 1975 STEREO on the PURPLE RECORDS label catalogue number TPSA 7515

MATRIX NUMBERS : Side 1 - TPSA 7515 A - 1U, Side 2 - TPSA 7515 B - 1U

The outer gatefold sleeve is in near mint condition - all corners, edges, and spine are unblemished and virtually as new. The photography and artwork are superb and all sides have a nice, shiny, gloss feel about them. The inner lyric sheet is excellent - there is a small 4cm seam split in the middle at the bottom and just the hint of some very slight "grubbiness" towards the left on the reverse side. The vinyl is, again, near mint and retains virtually all of it's sheen from the day the record was purchased. Hold the vinyl up to a bright light and you can make out some very, very superficial hairlines but apart from that the condition of the vinyl borders on pristine. The record labels are also both near mint : there are just a few very light, barely discernible spindle marks around the centre hole - another pointer to the fact that this album has been played only a few times. And as you would expect, the audio quality is superb : no clicks, jumps, scuffs, or crackle...just out and out superb sounding hard rock and, believe me, on the rare occasion when vinyl is in this good a condition (remember - this album is now 36 years of age!) the audio quality beats that of a CD or MP3 player any day of the week!

This is an increasingly rare album and only now is the quality of the music being given the credit that it deserves; this Deep Purple comprised Tommy Bolin, David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

In summary I have no hesitation as grading the overall condition of this item as "NEAR MINT" - it really is an "archive" copy. It would serve any serious record collector/collection proud. It will, of course, only increase in rarity and value.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for 43 years and have a huge collection. A combination of space requirements and a need to help fund my imminent retirement has prompted me to "rationalise" my collection and sell some of my much loved vinyl gems. My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I'll sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'l do my best to oblige. Richard

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :

Mint

Description: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Excellent Description: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good Description: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good Description: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.   Fair Description: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor Description: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. Bad Description: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
