DEEP PURPLE – Fireball ORIG Harvest LP / SHVL 793 (UK, Stereo, 1971)
Happy to present a superbly fresh copy of Purple’s 6th UK album with original insert. This has been seldom played and must rank as one of the very best still in circulation. Also included here is an original promotional booklet – from the ‘24 Carat Purple’ era. Matrices A-2U/B-3U.
The original textured non-laminated gatefold sleeve was made in the UK by Garrod & Lofthouse and has been kept in a gatefold PVC protective cover since purchase. It’s therefore in great condition with no real rubbing of the textured surface. There is some mild rubbing to the bottom edges, even less to the top edges and one or two very light rubs to the spine (all text still legible). Add to this some minor nicks to the opening edges and some very mild corner wear and that’s the only signs of age. There’s no splits, tears, writing, stickers. No real ring impression and only one tiny handling crease to the front. A very pleasing example which grades EX- (Excellent Minus). Terrific for its near 40 years.
The green Harvest labels are in a lovely state with full colour, no writing, stickers, tears or other damage and showing only a couple of spindle traces per side. GREAT PAIR OF VINTAGE HARVEST LABELS.
The sharp and solid medium to heavyweight vinyl is SUPERB. No visible deterioration on the disc’s surface. NO scuffs, hairlines, embedded dirt or dulling. There’s a tiny nick on the run-in grooves to Side 1 but nothing really. Grades M- (Mint Minus). IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays immaculately with NOT ONE audio issue – no snap, crackle or pop, no clicks, ticks, hiss, no distortion or loss of clarity. A SUPERB LISTEN! The play grade at least matches the visual one.
The insert is virtually as issued, just one small, soft crease to the lower left corner. The ’24 Carat…promotional booklet’ is also in great undamaged condition.
Housed in its original Harvest promotional, poly-lined inner, this is a top copy of Deep Purple’s Fireball. No reserve.
