MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original very first STEREO DEEP PURPLE’s “MACHINE HEAD” press released in Chile in 1974 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales ODEON S.A. (Odeon Records), licensed from Purple Records Ltd., catalog number SLDC-36895, matrix numbers: TPSA-7504 ci (“ci” inverted) A. AUAD R. (name of the stamper?) in Side A and TPSA 7504 B 2 in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!! And see the picture, this record is in superb condition!!! And remember we are very conservatives for grading our records…

“MACHINE HEAD” was originally released in 1972 but we have to wait in Chile until 1974 to see this record released here. And we got it like many cases of that period with and UNIQUE COVER!!! Yes!!! And when we say “different” we mean “very different”. In Chile it’s a gatefold cover made with 2 single covers made. Left cover is made with 2 single sheets of paper attached to a cardboard and right cover, with the mouth edge, is made of 2 single sheets too, and everything is kept together for an outer plastic bag. The cover keeps the original artwork with title and tracklist written in English only but in inner covers all the credits are written in Spanish only. At the bottom of back cover it’s written in Spanish: “Marca Registrada. Fabricado Y Distribuido por Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. Casilla 186-D-Santiago (Chile)”. In front cover, floating between the plastic bag and the paper it’s a red squared orange paper (not a sticker, only a paper) which says: “SERIE SELECTA Y ESTELAR” (Select and Stellar Serie) and which’s very hard to find because in most of covers these little papers got easily missed.

The cover was already described and it’s in VG+ or EX- condition, clean, no missing parts, no ring marks, no writings, no creases, only at the upper left corner, at the top edge, the front cover have a rip. Original ouet plastic bag is in great EX+ or NM- condition, clean and complete, oly with light wear and a little rib at the bottom edge caused for the record. The little orange paper in back cover it’s in NM+ condition. The record is in superb EX- or EX condition the Side 1, glossy, clean, with minimal hairlines and scuffs hard to see which don’t affect sound at all, and in VG- or VG condition the Side 2, glossy and clean, but with some light scratches, hairlines and scuffs which don’t affect sound. Labels on both sides are in NM+ condition, clean and clear, but some past owner wrote his name in both labels, I will grade as VG only because they are too evident and intrusive. The sound is amazing!!! It’s in superb VG+ or EX- condition the Side 1, clear, loud, no background noise (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), only some crackles and light pops here and there, and in VG- or VG condition the Side 2, loud and clear too but in the song “Smoke On The Water” I hear some crackles and pops and I detected a little jump too, but you already know how records behave, they sound different in different turntables, maybe it’s the tonearm weight of my Audio-Technica or maybe some dust in the groove. I’d recommend a vacuum cleaning. So, the Side 2 sounds great after that pop/jump, really a great sound for this album. Overall a RARE record with an UNIQUE GATEFOLD COVER in an amazing condition, with a fabulous look, complete with the little orange paper and an GREAT sound after almost 37 years!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for.
