Description
DEEP PURPLE "Machine Head" rare QUADRADISC LP from 1974 (WB BS4 2607) with gatefold sleeve. CD-4 Four Channel Discrete QUADRAPHONIC edition of their classic album from 1972. You will notice quite a different mix on some of the tracks compared to the Stereo version (Specially on the track "Lazy" - you hear some guitar licks not in the stereo mix).
Includes: Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, Space Truckin’, Pictures of Home.
From my PERSONAL Collection - bought used, and just played on my new Denon turntable.
Yeah - I was big into Quad in the day - had the top of the line JVC receiver, four Advents and two turntables - one just for quad - and a quad tape deck...
I rate/price these LPs on sound mostly - then cover, inserts, LP sleeve, etc. I care about the sound the most.
I've cleaned these LPs with my discwasher and Zerostat - if you need more than that, you have some dirty LPs!
I'll be listing my entire Quad Collection (about 100), as I record them - some fairly rare ones in the mix... Look out occasionally for new listings.

Original 1972 US LP on WARNER BROS RECORDS DEEP PURPLE "Machine Head" WB BS4 2607
This is a QUADRAPHONIC pressing CD-4
LP is VG with a few marks. Cover, VG - see photos.
VG, both sides. Jacket in VG condition. Looks the original LP sleeve. I will note any issues I heard below:
Side #1: Very light surface noise throughout - Maybe a bit in-between songs and a small pop or two... nothing major. Side #2: A fairly lot of surface noise throughout, but for sure on "Smoke on the Water" - this track has been played a boatload of times. I wouldn't be surprised if a doobie or two has been rolled on this baby!
Records have been cleaned, sleeved, play tested and protected in an outer sleeve. I pack carefully and ship in a new or used, but in good shape, LP mailer with the LP outside the sleeve.
If your a stoner - I suggest you play this loud - you will not hear any of the background noise at all:)
The record play through fine - NO SKIPS!
These results are on my equipment. You may or may not hear the same. If you have some very high-end stuff, you'll probably hear more stuff than I do...
