Deep Purple - Made In Japan

UK 1st pressing double vinyl LP. Labels have "The Gramophone Co. Ltd. ...." text around the edge, all later copies have "EMI...." text. Outer laminated gatefold sleeve has an extremely rare "Special Live Double Album £3.25rrp" official gold sticker in the bottom right corner, this is the first time I have ever seen this sticker, it must have come only on the very very 1st pressings.

1U/1U/1U/1U matrix.

 PORKY / DELTA PORK / PECKO / PECKIE etched into each sides run out grooves.

This is the extremely rare Decca contract pressing.

From time to time when their pressing plant at Hayes was overloaded EMI would get either Decca or Pye to press albums for them. This is most well known with The Beatles’ contract pressings, but happened many times with other big bands.This Decca pressing can be identified by the ridge 1 third of the way  into the labels, and also the “Made In Japan” text is not in brackets as it appears on all EMI 1st pressings. This is a very rare contract pressing, and is far harder to find than the standard EMI 1st press.

CONDITION: Sleeve: Excelent++ [would grade as Near Mint except for a very small dent on top righ corner, and a couple of the smallest creases at the spine]. Labels: Near Mint [just some very light spindle marks, only visible in very strong light]. Vinyls; All Near Mint [fresh and bright, with just a few very light surface marks, the great condition of the vinyl would suggest only 2 or 3 careful plays]
