DEL SHANNON COLLECTORS: Issued during 1961, here's a stunning and rare original UK yellow demo copy of this great hit tune from DEL SHANNON with "RUNAWAY" on the UK LONDON AMERICAN imprint # HLX 9317. Although the record states it's backed with "JODY", this copy is actually backed with the mispressed recording of "THE SNAKE" by MAXIMILION.
This copy has the 4-prong centre intact and plays superbly throughout with top audible quality and remains in mint minus condition with the lightest of sleeve rubs and minimum of crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and with a minimal edge lift not affecting play. The labels are clean on both sides other than the company applied running times applied by hand as well as a small 'x' on the 'A' side and a small marker pen spot applied to the 'B' side within the press out centre and showing minimal signs of spindle wear. Still paired with an original company sleeve making this a top copy for the collector (see picture scans).
