ITEM: Rare original Mono LP "Runaway" by Del Shannon in fantastic condition. Gently played and carefully cared for by previous owner.
COMMENTS/CONDITION: Record came from a private collection. It is not a beat up record bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was spot-checked test played. I did not play both sides from start to finish. Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.
Vinyl is in Excellent condition, retaining original mirror like full gloss luster. No warps, deep scratches, groove wear, chips, or cracks. Under close inspection a couple very light scuffs/hairlines can be seen, which are cosmetic only, and do not affect the listening pleasure. All short segments that I spot checked played well with no skips, groove lock, or harsh surface noise. A few areas of occasional soft surface noise can be heard, but do not distract from the music.
The cover is in likewise Excellent condition, with nice pointy corners. Front cover is laminated with crisp, vivid colors and photos. Laminate is in near perfect condition - there are no bubbles, crease lines, or separations in the clear vinyl covering. All corners are "bump" free, the bottom right corner has superficial shelf wear to the corner tip. All seams are tight with no splits. The spine is straight and is easily readable. The back panel is also in very good condition; the paper overlay remains fully glued to the cover with no loosening of the adhesive. There is a small retail price sticker on the bottom left corner. This is NOT a cut-out...no punch holes, clipped corners, or notches.
The original Deep Groove labels with silver print on black background are in excellent shape. No fading, writing, or peeling. Center hole remains perfectly round with no signs of abusive playing.
The inner sleeve is "wax-paper" item.
