WHO (Stereo Version of BBC TV Theme Music) b/w PADDY KINGSLAND, BBC RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP - REG. 45rpm 7" BLACK VINYL DISC On BBC RECORDS RESL11 STEREO UK SINGLE 1976. ORIGINAL PYE UK (Matrix: RESL11 A-1<>X / RESL11 B-1<>X) REISSUE PRESSING On BLUE BBC LABEL WITH FLIPBACK "E.Hannibal & Co. Ltd." PICTURE SLEEVE. Condition: VG+(light storage wear)/VG+(lots of light surface marks, no spindle wear).
Original Pye Records issue of the stereophonic original soundtrack Music from the BBC TV Series composed by Ron Grainer realised by Delia Derbyshire. In 1972, BBC Records contacted Delia Derbyshire to ask if she would mind the commercial release of the contemporary Dr. Who theme (as used since The Faceless Ones and last updated in 1970). Delia created a pseudo-stereo mix of the original demo, opening with the cliff-hanger "sting" created for the 1970's version and featuring a stereo TARDIS "fly-by", both mixed onto the track by Paddy Kingsland and Derbyshire herself.
Many of the Pye Records reissue pressing will change colour from black to translucent red when held under light!!
This one stays black in colour. :-)
Comes in a beautiful TARDIS title sequence picture sleeve with the iconic 1974-1979 Doctor Who logo.
