It was 2015, the year after Mac De Marco released his massively successful album Salad Days and he was on a hot streak in terms of songwriting. For this mini album, it was conceived and recorded entirely by Mac at his then home in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York. The original version was kept to a trim eight tracks, but in celebration of its 10th anniversary we're getting - in addition to a fully remastered version of Another One - all the companion material. It's a stellar collection of demos: 'No Other Heart' is a soothing soulful reprieve from modernity; an escape via Damon Albarn-level melodies. 'Prem + Pickle' is a fun old timey number that recalls The Shadows. Of the mini album highlights, 'No Other Heart' is a stunning poetic love song and inspiring to think he got such a cool sound without leaving his bedroom.
