Description
This is an original Demon Pact single issued on (British) Slime, performing "Eaten Alive" and "Raiders". It is being sold on behalf of the person responsible for issuing the single in 1981, and who remains the worldwide copyright holder for all Demon Pact recordings, compositions, logos, artwork, etc.
Demon Pact were a four-piece Heavy Metal band (regarded as belonging to the "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal" - NWOBHM) from the Bromley & Hayes area, Kent, on the edge of south-east London, England. The band on these recordings consisted of brothers Richard Dickerson (lead guitar) and Alan Dickerson (bass guitar), Donald Meckiffe on vocals and Iain Finlay on drums. The performances on this single have for many years been regarded as one of the best examples of early 1980s Heavy Metal, very professionally recorded but retaining the raw, driving edge which makes a great Metal band.
It is very well known that the picture sleeve for this single splits very easily on the folds, mainly along the bottom or top edge. This is because ordinary paper was used instead of the durable, heavy grade of paper required (blame the mistake on youthful ignorance at the time). Although this single is from the original 1981 (and only) pressing, the picture sleeve may have a small slit on the top or bottom fold because of movement of the single during its long-term storage in boxes (the single has since been kept in a plain white sleeve). However, overall the sleeve will be in "new" or "mint" condition. The record will be shipped in a plain white sleeve along with the picture cover, so that the cover reaches the buyer in the best possible condition.
As for the vinyl itself, it should be a brand new copy, however, it has spindle marks on one side, which may either be clumsy manufacturing or indicate that the record has been played, hence it is being described as "mint" rather than new.
