Grading:
I use the UK Record Collector Goldmine grading system:
Sealed: In factory-fresh condition.
Mint (M): I do not use this grade.
Near Mint (NM): The record itself is in perfect condition, probably unplayed or played once, with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover is in perfect condition with no obvious signs of wear. I hardly ever use NM for a cover grading unless it's in perfect condition.
Excellent (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover without any major defects.
Good (G): The record has obviously been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. Cover suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
For items that fall between the accepted grades, I use a plus (+): EX+, VG+ and G+.
Note: Don't let my feedback rating mislead you. I had a far from pleasant transaction recently and somebody left poor feedback ratings for me after only 7 business days! I didn't even get a chance to sort it out. Bid with confidence, my items are graded accurately. Please email if you have any questions.
