This rare gem was recently discovered packed away in the bedroom closet of a 1960's Oakland Disc Jockey.
In 1965-66... Denise & Co. Denise & Company released one single which is one of the rarest garage 45s . Denise and Company’s 1966 Wee Records disc “Boy What’ll You Do Then/Chaos.” The S.F.Bay Area group was led by Merry Prankster and Ken Kesey associate Denise Kaufman, who would go on to found the all-girl psych-rock band the Ace of Cups. Recently, this 45 reportedly sold for a substantial amount, in no small part, perhaps, because the “boy” in the song’s title was a guy named Jann Wenner, who started a little magazine called “Rolling Stone.”Denise was Denise Kaufman who later went on to be a member of The Ace of Cups. The Company were the Bay Area group The Answer who provide backing for this single. It is likely that Denise & Company only existed for this one recording and rarley performed live, if ever.
The single is highly sought after and is now considered to be one the HOLY GRAILS of collectable sixties garage band 45 rpm singles as only 3 or 4 copies are known to exist.
This fuzz guitar psych classic is simply amazing.Record is in overall Very Good VG condition, has a some light scratches on Chaos side but plays great, labels are nice with light wear, sleeve is nice with slight wear.. Sounds & Displays GREAT!!----(SEE PICTURE BELOW)-----. This is a great cult classic music and record collectible especially if you like 1960's Bay Area mod pop and punk rock psych garage band music or 45 rpm records such as the Beatles, E-types, The Who, Dave Clark Five, Seeds, Sonics,Chocolate Watchband, Rolling Stones, Northern Soul etc. . .
