The Deviants were a psych/metal band formed in the UK during the late 60's and led by writer/vocalist, Mick Farren. Pre-Pink Fairies. With guitarist Sid Bishop and drummer Russ Hunter and using $$$ from a young British millionaire, they recorded this, their debut album, Ptooff! In the late '60s, the Deviants were something like the British equivalent to the Fugs, with touches of the Mothers of Invention and the British R&B-based rock of the Yardbirds and the Pretty Things. A classic in the early UK psych movement, it ranks up there with Piper at the Gates, and Tomorrow's debut album as early psych masterpieces! This is a beautiful original US pressing of this gem! In pristine, immaculate condition.
