Description
For auction is Dexter Gordon's "Go!" on Blue Note BLP 4112 MONO, 1962. With Sonny Clark, Butch Warren, and Billy Higgins.
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. It sounds awesome! Clean and bright! The only problem I could detect was a couple soft pops in the dead wax starting side A and similarly, a couple pops in the dead wax between A/1-A/2. Ditto side B/1 into B/2. To reiterate, these do not overlap any music! I detected no extraneous noise otherwise! Not even sure it's worth mentioning, but I just want to be complete and transparent when describing all the salient aural details on this rare record!
Visually, the vinyl is VG+ or better, with no flaws other than a scuff or two that do not affect play. This record is deep-grooved on both sides. It has the "RVG" STAMP on the dead-wax, as well as the "EAR" (both sides).
The sleeve is VG+ with no flaws of note other than routine aging. It has slight fraying/softening of some corners. All the seams are good. The front retains most of the original sheen, and the reverse is still white. Has a "review copy" stamp on reverse and station catalogue sticker front top left.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics. A rare record, in great condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $100.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
