Description

One of the rarest early DGG's, this is a beautiful copy of German DGG SLPM 138078, one of the first stereo releases for DGG in '58/'59. The disc is a thick pancake "Alle Hersteller," and the cover, dated 12/1959, has a red stereo sticker. The record is a rare sample pressing, stamped "Unverkäufliches Muster." Monique Haas plays four piano works of Haydn, the Sonatas No's 21 and 49, along with the Arietta con Variazioni and the C-major Fantasia..

This record was auditioned with a Goldring 1042 cartridge, Music Hall TT, Densen amplification and Epos speakers. The thick disc looks glossy and superb, and plays quietly at about NM. The crisp cover looks near-new, about a NM-.

This is a true collector's copy of this scarce early stereo DGG--you are unlikely to find better.
