Greetings! I'm listening to the Quartet in A minor as I write and it is exquisite. The whole of side one played perfectly--then I did hear a quiet pop or two right at the start of side two--when I replayed it just now (the rest of the record was perfect) it seemed to have diminished (maybe the needle pushed aside some particle of dust earlier?) to almost not there. What matters is that this is the authentic German Tulips Version--one just sold for $47 plus shipping from Germany. Admittedly, that one had a box in near mint condition whereas this box has open seams, a slightly soiled front cover, a damaged and dirty back cover (see photo) that evidently leaked some moisture through to the interior booklet (which must have been behind the records) giving the back cover of the booklet a slight warp and other signs of minor damage--Though overall the book is very readable and well done. The miracle is that the RECORDS themselves are in truly fine shape. I hand washed this one before playing and suggest you do the same to the others--but for pure sonic pleasure as far as vinyl recordings go, this set is among the finest I have purchased in terms of condition! I cannot promise perfection and I am NOT a professional--but if this doesn't sell I know that I am going to enjoy owning it. Please check out my 100% Positive Feedback Rating for Reassurance! Thank you! p.s.--I've decided to add the following statement to all sales of lp records: Important: Please read BEFORE you even consider buying a record: I enjoy looking for interesting records and making them available to you at reasonable prices; however, I am NOT a professional record dealer and will not pretend to be one by using an “official” rating system. Please consider what goes into the offer of a record on eBay before you view it: first, I had to flip through a large number of worthless records in order to key in on a gut instinct that a recording might be desirable; next I have to attempt to determine if the record is in very good condition and has no visible flaws or perhaps one small one if the record is special; then I check Amazon and eBay to see if the record has enough value to justify a purchase. Very few records get through the entire process, so each one that does required wasted time on the rejects to find it. Once home, I hand clean with dish detergent and a terry cloth towel any record that is particularly dirty or dusty; sometimes I only do this after trying to play the record and deciding that a cleaning is necessary. However, let me be clear: I DON’T LISTEN TO EVERY RECORD I OFFER NOR DO I CLEAN EVERY RECORD—THERE’S SIMPLY NOT TIME. Nevertheless, if I am concerned about a record or have questions about its condition, I will clean and play it or portions of it that I need to make sure are all right. Overall, I would say that I make a Good Faith Effort to only Sell Records in Enjoyable Listening Condition—BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT EACH RECORDING WILL BE PERFECT. THERE’S GOING TO BE THE OCCASIONAL CLICK OR POP, EVEN A SCRATCH THAT LAST A FEW SECONDS (though I’d try to let you know about that). JUST DON’T EXPECT PERFECTION—AT LEAST NOT ON EACH PURCHASE. IF YOU BUY A RECORDING AND FEEL I HAVE MISREPRESENTED ITS QUALITY OR FLAWS—LET ME KNOW!
