Description
Very collectable Diana Dors album from 1960 with backing from the Wally Stott Orchestra and produced in red vinyl. The tracks are The Point Of No Return, That's How It Is, Let There Be Love, Namely You, Imagination, Roller Coaster Blues, The Gentleman Is A Dope, April Heart, I'm In Love For The Very First Time, Crazy He Calls Me, Come By Sunday and Tired Of Love. The sleeve is a little worn around the edges but is otherwise in pretty good shape. The inner pouch with photograph at front has a tear of approximately two and a half inches at centre top. What makes this particularly interesting is the signature at bottom right which seems to be authentic enough after much checking, The dedication is made out to Harry Diamond; this could well be the well-known Soho character of the same name who died a couple of years ago. Harry was a stage hand at the London Palladium for some time and would have rubbed shoulders with such celebrities as Diana Dors. Underneath the signature is the name of Dickie Dawson (her husband at the time) which may or may not be a further authentic signature. Below his name is a small star of David plus the printed name Hazel. The vinyl is in typical condition for any copy of this disc which comes to hand i.e plenty of crackle and surface marks. There is also a click running through Roller Coaster Blues. Despite certain drawbacks this still remains a desirable item. Label: Pye Cat No: NPL.18044.
