Dick Curless - The Streets of Laredo / Foggy, Foggy Dew. Personally signed on label, "To Fred, Many thanks, Dick Curless." Fred was a disc jockey at WCOU-AM radio in Lewiston, Maine. WCOU was a revolutionary country radio station that featured many country artists performing live in the studio including Dick Curless, and Hal Lone Pine and Betty Cody of RCA Victor Records. Event 4258 monoraul 7" 45 rpm record. Condition: Record is a visual VG. Completely play-tested and the sound quality is great. Comments: This was the first solo recording by Dick Curless and only the third release by the legendary Event Records of Westbrook, Maine, known for its fine slate of rockabilly artists. The song was recorded in 1956. Curless would have to wait until 1965 to crack the Billboard Charts and reach all the way to #5 with the hit song "Tombstone Every Mile." Although this autographed copy of the very first and very rare Curless solo record has great sound quality, it's much too precious to play and deserves instead to be framed and hung on a wall to be fully appreciated.
