ITEM: Scarce and collectible 10 inch Vogue Picture Disc, by Dick La Salle and His Society Orchestra. Side 1: " Let Me Take You in My Arms " ( Quierote En Mis Brazos ), Lew Garfield, Paul Shahin, & Bill Young. Side 2: " It's Always You " (Siempre Eres Tu ), Bill Young - Paul Shahin. Released on the Vogue label, catalog number R748.
COMMENTS/CONDITION: This record came from a private collection - It is not a beat-up item bought at a yard sale. Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. Record was visually inspected, it was NOT test played. If you are not familiar with Goldmine's system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.
Both pictures are in excellent condition with crisp, vibrant colors. There is no fading or color bleed together.
Side 1 is VG- condition, with several scuffs and surface scratches, including 3 overlapping scratches near the lower right edge. These are on the surface and do not penetrate into the picture, but will probably produce surface noise (See attached photos for detailed close up view).
Side 2 is VG+ condition, with a couple light scuffs and hairlines.
NOTE: All stereo systems are different, and sound quality will vary from set-up to set-up. These comments are made for reference only, and are not intended to be a statement as to the results you may experience from your equipment.
The value is in the artwork. Vogue Picture Discs were manufactured primarily as display or promotional items, and did not have the audio quality of the standard black discs.
I have not tried to clean the disc or labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods of maintaining their records.
