LE SOUFFLE NOIR Lp by DIDIER PAQUETTE. Original French private pressing on F.L.V.M. (FAITES LE VOUS MEME) label (3028), from 1981. Obscure, French DIY electronics with killer space rock / proto techno and experimental ambient atmospheres. A conceptual / fantasy item inspired by Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and listed in the Hans Pokora 3001 book. Cosmic music composed / arranged and played by multi-instrumentalist, Didier Paquette with help from a friend playing guitar and a girl called Kiki playing some Korg PS 3100 ;) Futuristic synth themes, either stoned and psychedelic or more aggressive and protracted. Imagine an Lp version of the Marcello Giombini - Zelda OST single with Korg KR 55 drum machines - funky live drumming - leftfield hip hop beats / ethnic percussion / tape manipulation / dub FX and gothic undercurrent. Our soundclip opens with the rock beats of LE DERNIER CHANT DES ELFES then the industrial electro dance of LE SPECTRE DE MINAS MORGUL followed by all other themes. LES CAVALIERS DE ROHAN has heavy drums and progressive electronica / LES HAURES GRIS is the drifting - organic theme with wind sound FX and the beautiful guitar notes of Bernard Lacharme. LA CITE DES GALADHRIMS has fuzz guitar with drum machines / ARWEN NAMARIE! is ambient art installation type synth with drums and strange vocals by Didier. Great for DJs. Lots of loops and samples. Should appeal to lovers of Pierre Salkazanov / Richard Pinhas / Bernard Fevre / Jean-Pierre Decerf and collectors into the more outsider roots of French electronic dance music. Home-made looking sleeve with artwork also inspired by The Lord Of The Rings. Original photostat insert included. Rare Lp!!! Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) regardless of a couple of mini squiggle marks and mini, machine generated scuffs (both from the original pressing process) and some faint hairline scuffs from sleeve removal. Light surface noises. A few soft pops / ticks in places (as you can hear on our soundclip). The soft card sleeve with DIY screen print style artwork is closer to M- condition overall regardless of minimal ring creasing and a couple of rub marks that have removed some of the "hand painted" acid yellow paint to the wand (top left of front sleeve). A few ink blemishes to back sleeve. Original insert is intact. Sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Lp!!!
