WOW!! For sale is an absolutely GORGEOUS, nearly pristine and almost certainly unplayed promo pressing of DIRE STRAITS - BROTHERS IN ARMS on limited edition Quiex II Audiophile virgin vinyl! These are VERY RARE in any condition, let alone one as nice as this. The disc is as pristine LIKE NEW. The Quiex II virgin vinyl formulation was specifically formulated to be extremely quiet, with as little to no surface noise as possible. The disc appears black until held up to bright light where it becomes translucent brown.

Both sides were mastered at MASTERDISK by The Legend himself, Bob Ludwig. This is THE BEST SOUNDING original pressing of this album and many would say the BEST sounding pressing of all time, including the MoFi. This is without a doubt one of the best copies you will find. TOP COPY!

Sleeve: VG+

BEAUTIFUL crisp clean sleeve with very little wear...has Quiex II hype sticker and a Promo sticker affixed. Mostly sharp opening edges, with one “ding” being the most obvious flaw. The corners are mostly sharp with a couple of slight bumps. SEE PICS. As with most records in this collection, “From The Collection of Bob Senn” has been lightly stamped on rear. No other writing.

Disc: NM

GORGEOUS disc retains all of it’s original glossy sheen...I can’t even see the faintest wispy sleeve removal traces when tilted under bright light, but I will add the minus anyway out of an over abundance of caution. Disc appears UNPLAYED, or if at all, played and handled very little. As with many of the records in this collection, there is a very high chance it is truly unplayed and guaranteed to have NO GROOVE WEAR, providing crisp, clear, STUNNING audio! TOP COPY! I have tried to show in the pics the perfect labels with zero spindle marks or signs of play and one photo to show the Quiex II vinyl which when held over bright light becomes translucent brown.

Labels: NM

Labels are perfect with no unwanted writing or marks. No spindle traces or evidence of play.

Inner: VG-

Original inner sleeve does have a couple of small seam splits beginning, however it is very crisp with only light disc impressions and no major creases. No unwanted writing. Disc has been placed into another inner sleeve for storage.

The sleeve is in wonderful condition and the audio is guaranteed to be top notch with absolutely NO groove wear and clear, crisp sound! These Quiex II vinyl copies were pressed as “limited edition” and appear to have only been used for promotional copies such as this.

The original owner (more about him below) took extremely good care of these records. If they were played, he only played them on high end hi-fi equipment. Many have never been opened. Many have never been played, and most that were played have only been played lightly. They have been in careful, climate controlled storage for 30+ years. More detailed description to follow below.

Pressed by Allied Record Company, whose lower-case "a" stamp in runouts can be mistaken for a balloon, or a capital "Q".

"SLM ?" in the runout etching indicates that the lacquer disc was processed at, and the metal parts used to manufacture the record were made at Sheffield Lab Matrix.

This copy is from the collection of Bob Senn - a renowned Santa Barbara, California DJ and program director for KTMS FM “The Rock on the Coast”. When Mr. Senn passed, his collection was acquired by my friend who has commissioned me to help sell them. There are thousands of records in the collection, almost all promotional copies in mint or close to mint condition.

Shipping: I am a vinyl collector myself so I completely understand the importance of good packaging and will ship this VERY carefully and securely. The disc will be put into a generic inner sleeve, placed behind the jacket in a plastic outer sleeve and sandwiched snugly between two thick cardboard stiffeners and shipped in an LP mailer with protected corners.

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
