Dire Straits is the debut album by British rock band Dire Straits, released on 7 October 1978 by Vertigo Records internationally, and by Warner Bros. Records in the United States.The album produced the hit single "Sultans of Swing", which reached the number 4 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and number 8 on the UK Singles Chart. The album reached the number one position on album charts in Australia and France, the number two position in the United States, and the number five position in the United Kingdom. Dire Straits was certified double-platinum in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

The original album contained a slightly shorter version of "Sultans of Swing", omitting the last seconds of the guitar solo at the end of the song. The full-length version was included on the remastered edition of the album.

The VINYL is in N MINT condition.

The SLEEVE sleeve is in N MINT condition.

The INNER PICTURE SLEEVE is present and in N MINT condition.

All records are professionally cleaned using an MOTH cleaning system prior to despatch.

I package my records in the strongest purpose made mailers for maximum safety.

All records are removed from their picture sleeves where appropriate and posted in a separate plain white inner to avoid damage during transit.

The following is the scale I use to grade my records , I try my best to get it right so please buy with confidence.

MINT:

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks

or deterioration in sound quality.

The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.

Records advertised as sealed or un-played should be mint.

EXCELLENT:

The record shows some signs of having been played,

but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

The vinyl may have some hairline surface scuffs which will be only slightly visible.

The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:

The record has obviously been played many times,

but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,

despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,

is acceptable.

GOOD:

The record has been played so much

that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated.

perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

The cover suffers from folding, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

International Orders - Please add 2 UKP for each additional LP purchased (doubles count as 2). I prefer to send Internationsal orders 'international signed for' to ensure that all orders arrive at their destination safely.

For multiple purchases , please wait for me to send you a combined postage invoice at the end of the auction day BEFORE making payment otherwise you will end up paying me more postage than is required as postage discounts have to be manually applied.
