(DISCO) SHITAN parts 1 and 2 ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by SHITAN music written by PRESTIPINO aka PINO PRESTI executive producer SHITAN. Original Italian 1st pressing on the BABY RECORDS label (BR 039), from 1977. Insanely good and super-hypnotic disco dub oddity. Sleazy, psychedelic and experimental masterpiece led by cult bass player Pino Presti with unknown studio group. For sure, one of the very best and most unusual of the afro cosmic / Italian disco genre with killer production and funky flanged rhythms galore. Obsessive, sinister and exotic with looped percussion / murky beats and basslines / stoned flute / filtered male vocal FX / sexy whispering female backing / cosmic synth / phased brass stabs / syncopated drum breaks et al. Totally bugged-out groove apparently based on a Lebanese ethnic folk song. Great for DJs. Electronic disco cum alternative funk par excellence and a spacey double-sider that gets even trippier on the part 2 dub reprise. Should appeal to lovers of the Adolf Stern - More... I Like It anthem on Ciao Label. The funky drummer / percussionist on this Italo production was most probably Renato Mantegna of Dedalus / Ellade Bandini of Fourth Sensation or Tullio De Piscopo ;) Bizarre choice of sleeve design with weird looking fox artwork too. Rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with a few hairlines / faint scuffs from storage cum sleeve removal. Booming production sound. Some light surface noises. The fragile, soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with ring creasing / ring wear from storage and mini tear to middle of open side (back sleeve only). Some dirt marks / corner and edge wear. Rare 45!!!
