Summary: In the early 70’s & 80’s in the Capital City as DJ Kidd Rhythm I spun wax and unraveled yarns preaching the gospel according to rhythm and blues. You could leave the afternoon chaos by hooking up with KAOS fm and score with your weekly connection, DJ Kidd Rhythm, for a weekly jolt of R&B. The program was entitled “What It Is: Music in & out of the 50’s. I would take the Sunday afternoon listening audience on a 90 minute trip by treating their infectious disease that has no known cure but is treatable with an hour & a half of independent R&B.
Spinning platters along with informed chatter with the tunes that are more habit forming than crack to a vinyl junkie. Here’s an example: It was in 1962 when the west coast vocal group The Newports recorded The Wonder Of Love b/w Dixie Women. This vocal group that recorded as The Newports for the Bihari Brothers Kent record label in Los Angeles is not to be confused with the East Coast group out of NY that recorded on the Kane & Guyden label in 1962 with the same group name. Currently the song Dixie Women (Alfred Smith, Edward Alperson, Jerry Winnk) has been re-released on a CD & as a 7” single with a different flip side on the Ace/Kent record label out of the UK.
