DODO GREENE “My Hour Of Need” RVG, P, Blue Note BLP 9001 Mono Vinyl
This is 1963, first edition, “VAN GELDER” stamped, “P” pressing of DODO GREENE’s “My Hour Of Need” on the "New York USA” labels of Blue Note BLP 9001. Musicians include Herbie Lewis, Milt Hinton, Al Harewood, Billy Higgins, Grant Green, Sir Charles Thompson, Ike Quebec.
VINYL plays with consistent light surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Very good gloss. A few non- feelable hairline marks. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean, some ink writing. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.
COVER is in excellent shape. Corners worn. Top seam and spine in very good shape. Cracking on Bottom seam and 1” split. See photos. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, marker, stain, but mostly clean. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
