Donald Eugene Cherry (1936 – 1995) was an American jazz trumpeter. He is well known for his long association with saxophonist Ornette Coleman, which began in the late 1950s. In the 1960s he became a pioneer of world fusion music, incorporating various ethnic styles into his playing. In the 1970s he relocated to Sweden, but he continued to tour and play festivals throughout the world and worked with a wide variety of musicians.
A limited vinyl and CD release of the January 1977 live performance of the music from Don Cherry's 1976 Hear & Now album featuring Tommy Koverhult, Georg Wadenius, Torbjörn Hultcrantz, Branislaw Suchanek, Maki Cherry, Lena Ahlman, Per Ek and Per Tjernberg. The performance was recorded at the Modern Museum in Stockholm, Sweden and is said to be one of, if not the best Don Cherry recording!
